Moonbeam Fashion

Over the next few weeks we would like to showcase the beautiful donations given by our very generous sponsors as well as introducing the sponsors themselves, some of the performers and some of the hard working feed-a-smile staff members.

Today we will start with Miria Moonbeam from Moonbeam Fashion.

Miria is a lovely lady from Italy and she is the owner and designer of Moonbeam Fashion. In addition to her work as a designer she is a fashion model as well. We had the opportunity to see her once at a fashion show and were very impressed. The Moonbeam Fashion mainstore is a very comfortable and warm looking shop from the moment you land there and her designs are very neatly arranged. If you are looking for a new gown then you should stop by where there are some gorgeous ones to be had.

Miria's donation, specifically made for the Feed-a-Smile charity event, is called "Earth".
It is a beautiful dress in soft warm colors very much suited to the African theme of the Feed-a-Smile event. See it on the photo below but even better, go to the Feed-a-Smile venue and get this beauty already. Her donation Vendor is already up and running so you are able to be one of the first to have this beautiful dress and help to feed the LLK children in the same time.

Thank you Miria for your gorgeous donation and we hope it will generate a lot of meals for the LLK children.

Our Precious Team is growing!

We have been so fortunate. Billy Debruyere owner of LaModa Model Agency and Studio has come on board to help us with our fashion shows.
LaModa is providing the models, background crew, staging and even donating some packages for our fund raising efforts.
We are delighted and grateful for Billy's efforts in helping make this a successful event. He has helped with promoting this event in many ways and connected us with people we didn't know of that can and will help us promote this event.
"Feed a smile" is on its way to becoming a "Mega Event"
Thankyou so much Billy and a Big Thankyou again to all of our sponsors, bloggers and everyone on board with our event. What a team :-)

Feed a Smile 2010 :-)

Organizing of the "Feed a smile 2010" event is now in full swing. We have been so fortunate to find some wonderful content creators to sponsor and support us. We are still currently searching more as we would love this to be an event to remember.

This event shall be held from 10th July until the 18th July 2010, and during these days we shall have some full on entertainment such as special sales, auctions, freebies, fashion shows and live entertainment (U2 in SL has agreed to perform for us :-)).

Every L$100 raised is enough to give one child, one meal, (LLK have around 500 children in this project)

How does it work?

We are seeking donations of possibly "one off" designs (although we would be grateful for any donation) for the feed a smile event that can be sold and 100% of the proceeds sent to the charity.
Special Vendors will be given out to the donating content creators from the 2nd week in June in which they can place the donated item, with the permissions of their choice, and the picture and a LM and info about their business.
The Vendor is then rezzed at our event place. Whenever somebody makes a purchase the money will go first to the owner of the vendor but because the split will be set to 100% the amount will then automatically be transferred to to Brique Topaz for the charity funds.

Who is involved so far?

About LLK in SL

Since January 2010 Live and Learn in Kenya NGO is also online in the Second Life charity community – Nonprofit Commons. The managers of the Nonprofit Commons go though every detail of an organization’s registration form to assure themselves that it really is a charitable non-profit organization and not just a computer scam. LLK operates from a virtual office where people can come in and inform themselves about our work in Kenya, look at photos and, if an LLK member is present, hold a conversation. There are real people behind all of the so-called avatars, so real conversations are held – as well as meetings – either by typing your message or by speaking over a microphone. A child in Kenya – the orphan, Veronica - has already been sponsored through a Second Life contact – which makes it all worthwhile. When you log in to Second Life type either Brique Topaz or Live and Learn in Kenya International in the search. LLK also belongs to the world-known organization Techsoup which also works in Second Life.
